Hurmat Tasaaweer حرمة التصاوير
Blurs pictures of people and animals everywhere on your screen, in every app, to help guard the gaze. Text and buttons around them stay readable, and very small images are left alone. It runs entirely on your own computer; nothing is sent anywhere.

macOS
Linux, GNOME
Installation steps for each are in the README. The downloads aren't signed, so Windows and macOS show a warning the first time; the README explains how to get past it. Android is in development. iPhones can't support this: iOS doesn't let apps see or cover other apps.
How it works
- A detection model looks at what's on screen and outlines each person and animal. It runs on your graphics card where possible.
- A person is blurred when a head or most of a body is visible; a hand or legs alone are left alone. A faces-only mode is available.
- The blur follows each figure's outline, so nearby text and buttons stay sharp. Pictures smaller than about 48 pixels are left alone.
- Blurring appears within about 0.1–0.2 seconds of a new picture on GNOME; the other versions are slower.
Help test it
Testers are needed most on Windows, macOS and X11 desktops.
Install it, use your computer normally for a while, then
fill in a test report.
The Windows, macOS and X11 versions have a built-in self-test (--self-test) whose output helps a lot.
Please describe problem images in words rather than attaching screenshots of them.
